What this is all about...
This blog is designed to be a place for family members and others interested in this project to post their questions, their stories, their images, and share in the development and promotion of this project. The main mission of the Ackley Homestead Project is to keep the most historical Ackley site in responsible hands. The home and land will soon be on the market. It has been in the Ackley Family for over a hundred years and in 1991 sold to a wonderful family who took pride in the property and heritage. Though they weren't Ackley family members, they might well have been, for they have cared for the property with love and pride. They have also hosted a number of family members to the home over the years, perhaps even you.
So, ask your questions, add your images, share your ideas!

I, for one, thank you Mark, for taking this project on. And I know Carl has been very involved as well. Both of you are amazing for putting so much time and effort into this. I'd be happy to do whatever you need.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope this project is successful the aquisition of the Homestead. I can't imagine how devastated my grandpa, Adolphus W. Ackley Jr, would be if the coal companies got the house and land and destroyed it all.
